Are you a routine person?

Do you need to have your own time?

Do you worry when leaving the house incase baby looses it?

Being the type of person who loves routine and structure can be tricky with a new baby! There is no controlling baby, in fact, now baby controls you. You're used to having your own quiet time and now, you're lucky if you even get a shower on your own!

Hi! It's Kris here. Just jumping in to explain how I used my songs to help create a happy routine for my boys when they were babies.

Every time it was time to go to sleep I would sing the Have A Little Rest song and then whisper ‘it’s time to go to sleep’, whilst settling baby into bed. I did this everyday whenever baby looked like they were getting sleepy (rubbing eyes etc). Then after a few weeks, I noticed that sleeptime was roughly starting to happen at the same time each day. It was a natural progression...baby would get sleepy, I'd sing, baby would recognise the song and then baby would happily go to sleep.

I did the same thing at night time with The End Of The Day lullaby. It was amazing, it truly worked for us! It was also really handy when we were out. Instead of missing rest time, I'd sing the song, wrap baby as usual and place down into the pram to have the normal rest time. It made going out easy!

We also took it a step further and would sing the other routine songs whilst going about our day. For example, in the morning when going to get baby out of the cot, we'd sing The Morning Song, whilst changing the nappy we'd sing the Changing The Nappy Song and when it was time to wash we'd sing the bathtime song Tick Tock Are You Ready.

It really helped us create a calm and happy space, hope it does for you too.
