What do you do with baby while they are awake?

Hi it's Kris! I remember with our first - Harry, when he was born, I said out load 'Wow it's a real baby!' It just felt so surreal. Then when we brought him home, during the awake times, I panicked, what do we do with him??!!

I tried following the Sing, Read, Play baby guideline book for baby development (created by the NSW Government of Health) however Harry wouldn't stop crying.

The day I gave up and  started to sing to him, was the day it all changed for us. Our stress turned to happiness! When Harry would cry, I would sing and he would stop crying! Brilliant! This then got me thinking... if I write a song to match each development activity in the guide I had been trying to follow, he'll finally be able to do it!

So I did. I wrote a song to match each activity. I would sing and we would play together and throughout that whole time, he would be happy (no tears!) I felt great because not only had the crying ceased, but I now also felt like I was helping with his development!

I later sought the advise of the head NSW Paediatrician Dr John Eastwood and he helped ensure that all the songs I wrote, at least one of them was touching on a development activity suggested for a baby 0 - 12 months. He also gave 'Baby Music and Lullabies with Krissy' a Paediatrician Endorsement.
